Ingredients

Servings

Kitchen Gadgets:

  • Air Fryer
  • Foil

Air Fryer Lentil Burger Ingredients:

  • green lentils instant pot
  • 1 sweet potato large
  • 6 carrot medium
  • 1 red onion small
  • 50 g oat flour gluten free
  • 1 Tsp Garlic puree
  • 1 Tsp basil
  • 1 Tsp oregano
  • 1 Tsp thyme
  • 1 Tsp paprika
  • 1 Tsp harissa
  • salt
  • black pepper

Instructions

  1. Peel and dice your sweet potato and carrots and pressure cook for 5 minutes to ensure they are soft and easy to mash. Load sweet potato and carrots, along with all seasonings into the instant pot inner pot with the green lentils. Peel and thinly dice the red onion and add this too.
  2. Mix with your hands and mush up everything, until you have a texture similar to regular meat burger patties. Make into burger patties and then roll in your oats. Place four lentil burgers on foil in the air fryer.
  3. Cook for 12 minutes at 200c/400f, turn and cook for a further 5 minutes on the same temperature.

Notes

  • Swaps. You can use other vegetables, just make sure they are ones that don’t hold a lot of water. If you don’t want gluten free burgers you can swap oats for breadcrumbs.
  • Instant Pot. Note we have used the instant pot for the green lentils, sweet potato, and carrots. You can do the same or just use up your leftover vegetables and make these the day after a big meal.
  • Thanks for reading our air fryer lentil burgers recipe on Recipe This. We have many more air fryer recipes for you to check out next. Though if you would like more lentils, then I recommend you try our instant pot red thai curry soup next.
