Almond Milk Ice Cream
Description
The frozen bananas need to be thoroughly frozen to achieve a smooth ice cream texture when blended. Almond milk and almond butter are combined with the bananas in a food processor, creating a creamy base without adding dairy or processed sugars. The mixture is blended until smooth and can be served immediately for a soft-serve style.
Adding chopped almonds and chocolate chips as toppings introduces crunch and a contrasting sweet note, enhancing the simple creamy base. This recipe is a plant-based, naturally sweet dessert that relies on the fruit and nuts rather than added sugars or cream.
The ice cream can be stored in an airtight container in the freezer for longer keeping, though it may firm up further and may need brief thawing before serving.
Ingredients
- 4 tbsp almond milk
