Ambrosia Salad
Description
Ambrosia Salad features a fluffy dressing made from very cold heavy cream whipped with powdered sugar, folded together with sour cream to add a slight tang. Mixed into this creamy base are rainbow mini marshmallows, sweetened shredded coconut, and a variety of drained and prepared fruits including mandarin oranges, maraschino cherries, pineapple tidbits, and halved green grapes. The combination balances creamy, sweet, and fruity notes with soft and chewy textures. The salad is refrigerated for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld and the mixture to chill, resulting in a cool sweet salad that is often enjoyed at potlucks or holiday meals.
