Andouille Sausage Pasta

Report
Andouille Sausage Pasta is a flavorful one-pot dish combining spicy sausage pieces with penne pasta, red bell pepper, and a seasoned tomato sauce cooked together with milk and water to create a creamy, hearty meal. Parmesan cheese stirred in at the end adds a salty, nutty finish. This dish offers bold flavors and minimal cleanup.

Description

The recipe starts by browning andouille sausage with diced red bell pepper in a skillet to develop their flavors and soften the pepper. Then, penne pasta, crushed tomatoes, garlic, Italian seasoning, milk, salt, pepper, and water are added to the pan, with the water level just enough to cover the pasta, allowing it to cook through absorption in the simmering liquid.

Simmering with the lid on softens the pasta in about 10 minutes and melds the flavors together. Once the pasta is tender and the sauce is thickened, the lid is removed and Parmesan cheese is stirred in to melt and add richness. The dish is served immediately to retain its creamy texture and highlight the spicy sausage flavor.

This hearty meal is convenient as it uses one pot, reducing washing up and saving time, while delivering a filling and flavorful pasta dish with spicy notes.
