Apple Banana Nut Oatmeal

A simple way to make oatmeal for yourself or your kids that is ready on the stove top in 7 minutes.

Ingredients
- 1 cup skim milk
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 pinch sea salt
- 1 cup old fashioned oats
- 1 banana (sliced)
- 1 apple (diced)
- 2 tablespoon flax seed meal
- 2 tablespoon walnuts (chopped)
Instructions
- In a pot over medium heat, wisk together milk, water, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and a pinch of salt.
- Bring to a boil gradually and add in oats, banana and apple.
- Heat mixture to a boil then reduce heat to low and let simmer for 5 minutes.
- Stir frequently and add flax and walnuts during the last minute.
- Serve when oatmeal has reached desired consistency.
Notes
- Good source iron, calcium and Vitamin C
