Apple Blondies

Apple Blondies are dense, chewy bars made by mixing melted butter with brown and white sugars, adding eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, and baking powder, then folding in diced Granny Smith apples and chopped walnuts. The batter is thick with a brownie-like consistency, baked until set and topped with a cinnamon-sugar mixture for a sweet-spiced crust. Once cooled, the blondies slice into moist, flavorful bars featuring tender apple pieces and crunchy nuts.

Description

This Apple Blondies recipe begins by combining melted unsalted butter with packed brown and white sugars for a rich, sweet base. Eggs, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, salt, and baking powder are then incorporated to provide structure and warmth. The dry ingredients, primarily flour, are mixed in gradually, resulting in a thick batter reminiscent of brownie batter.

Diced Granny Smith apples and chopped walnuts are folded into the mixture, contributing tartness from the apples and crunch from the nuts. The batter is spread evenly in a baking dish and topped with a cinnamon and sugar blend, adding a sweet, spiced crust after baking. Baked at 350°F for about 45 minutes, the blondies set into bars that balance moistness and chewy texture.

Once baked, the blondies are set aside to cool fully before slicing into approximately 20 bars, delivering a sweet apple and nut bar with a cinnamon-sugar topping. These bars work well as a dessert or snack with a mix of soft and crunchy components.

The recipe yields about 20 servings, making it suitable for sharing or storing for several days.
