For pie:

  • 1 cup apple butter
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 3 egg lightly beaten
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 inch pie shell cold, frozen

For topping:

  • 3 tablespoons butter unsalted
  • ½ cup flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup pecans chopped

Instructions

For pie:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Combine in a large bowl the apple butter, pumpkin, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, salt, eggs, and milk.
  3. Remove your frozen pie crust from the freezer, set it on a large baking sheet pan, and pour in the filling.
  4. Bake the pie for 55 minutes or until a knife inserted 2 inches from the center comes out clean. The pie should be slightly jiggly in the center but set.

For topping:

  1. Combine the butter, flour, brown sugar, and pecans in a small bowl.
  2. Top the pie and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  3. Let the pie cool out of the oven, cover and store refridgated until ready to serve.
