Apple Cider Donut Bread
Description
Apple Cider Donut Bread uses a blend of flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cornstarch mixed with apple cider, sour cream, oils, and eggs to create a batter that bakes into a moist loaf. The inclusion of baking powder and soda helps the bread rise with a light texture. A sugar and cinnamon mixture is brushed on after baking for a sweet, spiced crust reminiscent of the sugar coating on traditional apple cider donuts. This process delivers both flavor and an attractive finish.
The result is a bread with soft crumb and gentle spice notes suited to be sliced for breakfast, brunch, or an afternoon snack. It can pair well with coffee or tea and adds seasonal character with the apple cider and warm spices. The loaf’s appearance and flavor profile make it a worthy alternative to donut treats in bread form.
This bread keeps well at room temperature for several days, allowing for convenient storage and enjoyment over multiple servings. The topping provides a pleasant contrast to the tenderness of the loaf and adds texture and aroma that enhances each bite with cinnamon and sugar.
