Ingredients

Servings
  • 8 - 12 pound ham bone in, spiral sliced
  • 1 ½ cups apple juice
  • 1 ½ cups brown sugar
  • 2 packets apple cider mix spiced

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and place your ham in a baking dish.
  2. Combine the apple juice, brown sugar, and spiced cider mix in a medium sauce pan and bring to a soft boil, then reduce heat to medium low.
  3. Continue cooking until sauce thickens to glaze consistency, stirring often. This will take about 10 - 15 minutes.
  4. Carefully pour half the glaze over your ham, spreading it evenly over top of ham.
  5. Bake until center of ham reaches 140°F, about 1 1/2- 2 hours depending on the size of your ham.
  6. Once ham is fully cooked, pour the remaining glaze over it and put it under the broiler for about 5-7 minutes, until glaze caramelizes.
  7. Remove from oven and serve!

Notes

  • Watch the ham under the broiler carefully as the glazed ham can go from glazed to burnt very quickly. You want it caramelized but not burnt.
  • Cook your ham for the amount of time that your ham package says. It’s typically based on the weight of you ham!
  • Refrigerate any leftover ham for up to five days then either freeze or throw away.
  • Freeze any leftover ham by placing slices in an airtight freezer bag for up to six months. Remove individual slices of ham and let them thaw in the refrigerator before warming up either on the oven or on the stove.
