Apple Cobbler Recipe

The Apple Cobbler Recipe combines tart cooking apples with a cinnamon-scented sugary topping that bakes to a golden, crumbly crust. The contrast between tender, spiced fruit and the coarse crumbly batter creates a classic comfort dessert. This cobbler is baked in a 13x9 inch dish until the topping firms and browns lightly, making it easy to serve warm. Optional ice cream adds a cold complement to the warm spiced apples, ideal for a cozy dessert or sweet finish to a meal.

Description

Apple Cobbler Recipe brings together seven to eight peeled, sliced tart apples sweetened with sugar and cinnamon, layered in a baking dish. Topped with a mixture of flour, sugar, cinnamon, eggs, baking powder, salt, and melted butter that forms a coarse crumbly dough, it bakes at 350°F for 50 to 60 minutes until golden and the apples soften under the crust. The cinnamon and sugar sprinkle over the apples enhances the fruit’s natural tartness with a warm spice. The result is a homestyle dessert where tender, flavorful apples meet a buttery, lightly crisp topping that holds together well.

The recipe's straightforward approach means it fits easily into a home baker’s repertoire, yielding a dessert to serve warm straight from the oven. Adding ice cream on top can balance the fruit’s acidity with creamy coldness if desired, but the cobbler also shines on its own.

This traditional apple cobbler recipe utilizes basic pantry staples and simple preparation techniques, making it practical for seasonal apple harvests or any time a comforting baked fruit dish is wanted. It provides a sweet, textured finish with a contrast of soft fruit and crumbly dough.
