Apple crisp recipe has a delicious cinnamon apple filling with the most amazing oat topping. It is super easy and even better with ice cream!

Ingredients

  • 6 apple Peeled and Chopped, Golden Delicious variety
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon Divided
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup old fashioned oats
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter diced into small pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and spray an 8X8 baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add the apples, sugar, lemon juice and 1/2 tsp of the cinnamon.  Mix to thoroughly coat the apples with the mixture.
  3. Pour the coated apples into the baking pan.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the brown sugar, oats, flour, salt and 1 tsp of cinnamon.  Stir to combine and then cut the butter into this mixture.  You can do this with a pastry cutter or 2 forks to combine the butter with the mixture.
  5. Then spread the topping over the apples in the baking pan.  Bake for 40-50 minutes until the mixture is bubbly and the top is golden brown.
  6. Serve warm and then enjoy!
