Apple Crisp Recipe

Apple Crisp Recipe layers tender, cinnamon-spiced apples with a crumbly oat and brown sugar topping, baked until golden and bubbling. The combination of soft baked apples and slightly crunchy topping creates a traditional comfort dessert that's easy to prepare. Lemon juice brightens the apple flavor, while optional garnishes like vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce add richness. This recipe offers a practical dessert to use a surplus of apples with ingredients commonly found in home kitchens.

Description

Apple Crisp Recipe features peeled, cubed apples coated in a mixture of sugar, cinnamon, and cornstarch, which thickens the juices during baking. The topping combines flour, oats, cinnamon, brown sugar, and cold butter cut in for a crumbly texture. Baking at moderate temperature for about 45-50 minutes softens the apples and crisps the topping. The lemon juice added to the apples adds a slight tang that balances the sweet and cinnamon flavors.

The finished dish offers baked apples with a tender interior and a textured crisp topping combining oats and brown sugar. Serving it warm in individual bowls, topped with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce, enhances the dessert with creamy and sweet notes. The contrast between the hot apple filling and cold ice cream is a classic way to serve this dish.

Leftover apple crisp keeps well in the refrigerator covered, and individual servings can be reheated before eating. The recipe's use of simple pantry ingredients and straightforward steps make it accessible for home cooks seeking a familiar baked fruit dessert.
