Apple Fritters

Apple Fritters combine chunks of tart apples baked into a cinnamon-spiced batter, fried until deep golden brown, and finished with a lemon-scented glaze. The fritters feature a contrast of tender, sweet-tart apple pieces within a slightly crisp fried dough. The glaze adds a smooth, bright-sweet topping that complements the warm spices and rich fried texture.

Description

This recipe mixes flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon as the dry base, then adds lemon juice-coated apple cubes for tartness and moisture. Eggs, sugar, and milk are whisked to a fluffy batter before folding in the apple pieces. The batter is then dropped by spoonfuls into hot oil heated to 375°F, frying until the fritters develop a dark golden-brown crust that is crisp outside and tender inside.

The finishing touch is a simple glaze made from confectioners sugar balanced with lemon juice and water, drizzled over the fritters for sweetness with a hint of acidity. The result is a treat with a moist, warmly spiced interior and a lightly crispy, glazed exterior.
