Apple Pie Egg Rolls
Description
The preparation begins by mixing apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, and lemon juice, which creates a sweet, fragrant filling with a hint of tartness and a thickened texture to prevent sogginess. Two tablespoons of filling are placed in the center of each egg roll wrapper, which are then folded and rolled tightly with the sides tucked in to avoid leaks during frying.
The egg rolls are fried in hot neutral oil at 350°F for about 4-5 minutes until they achieve a crisp, golden brown exterior. They may be dusted with powdered sugar after frying and served warm. The crisp casing offers a crunchy texture that complements the warmly spiced apple interior.
These egg rolls provide a convenient, hand-held variation on apple pie with a contrasting crispy texture and flavorful filling, suitable as a dessert or snack.
