Arepa dominicana, also called arepa dulce or torta dominicana is a Dominican cake made from corn and coconut.

Ingredients
- 2 cups cornmeal
- ⅗ cup caster sugar
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground walnut
- 3 tablespoons margarine (or butter)
- 1 handful raisins , optional
- 1 pinch salt
- butter (or margarine or oil, for the pan)

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 F (175°C).
- In a thick-bottomed, non-stick saucepan, combine all the ingredients and place over medium heat, stirring constantly until well blended.
- Stir constantly with a wooden spoon, over low to medium heat, until the mixture begins to thicken, about 5 to 10 minutes.
- Pour the mixture into a previously greased mold.
- Bake for 30 to 40 minutes. The arepa is ready when a stick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
