Asian Broccolini With Sesame and Ginger
Description
Asian Broccolini With Sesame and Ginger combines fresh broccolini with a savory and aromatic sauce made from butter, soy sauce, grated ginger, sesame oil, and toasted sesame seeds. The broccolini is first steamed briefly in a bit of boiling water until just tender yet still crisp. Then it is quickly tossed with the sauce ingredients in the same skillet, allowing the flavors to meld and coat the stalks. The ginger adds brightness and warmth while the soy sauce lends umami depth. Toasted sesame seeds add a nutty crunch and the spicy red pepper flakes bring a mild kick to the dish.
The cooked broccolini offers a pleasant texture contrast of tender stems and leafy tips, making it easy to enjoy as a vegetable side. The method is straightforward and quick, ideal for a midweek meal accompaniment or as part of an Asian-inspired dinner spread. It pairs well with rice or noodles and grilled or stir-fried protein.
Ingredients
- 1 pound broccolini , ends trimmed
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon ginger freshly grated
