Asian Glazed Salmon

Asian Glazed Salmon is baked fresh salmon pieces brushed with a glaze made from liquid aminos, sambal, honey, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and sriracha. The glaze imparts a balance of savory, spicy, and sweet flavors that caramelize slightly during baking. The salmon is cooked briefly at high heat for a moist, tender texture with a glossy coating.

Description

This recipe highlights fresh salmon fillets glazed with a mixture of liquid aminos, sambal, sugar-free honey, grated garlic and ginger, toasted sesame oil, and sriracha. The glaze combines umami, heat, sweetness, and aromatic notes and is applied generously before baking. The salmon bakes at 425°F initially for 10 minutes, then after brushing on more glaze, an additional 2 to 4 minutes until the coating caramelizes slightly.

The result is tender salmon with a shiny, flavorful glaze that melds spicy and sweet flavors. The brief high-temperature roasting keeps the fish moist inside while allowing the glaze to thicken and develop a light caramel crust. The glaze ingredients provide a distinctive Asian flavor profile.

This salmon works well served simply with rice, steamed vegetables, or greens. It’s suitable for a straightforward dinner that benefits from the depth of the glaze without requiring complicated preparation or long cooking times.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 6 pieces salmon about 2" wide/4 ounce, fresh
  • ¼ cup liquid aminos
  • 2 tablespoons sambal
  • 2 tablespoons honey sugar-free
  • 1 clove garlic grated
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil toasted
  • 1 teaspoon ginger grated, fresh
  • ½ teaspoon sriracha

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Add the liquid aminos, sugar-free honey, Sambal, Sriracha, garlic, ginger and toasted sesame oil into a small mixing bowl. Whisk until well combined and slightly thickened, then set aside.
  3. Place the salmon on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil (for easier cleanup) and a wire rack that’s been sprayed with nonstick spray.
  4. Brush a generous amount of the glaze over the tops and sides of each piece of salmon.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes.  Remove it from the oven and brush the remaining glaze, then bake 2-4 minutes or until slightly caramelized and serve.
