Asian Grilled Corn

Asian Grilled Corn features ears of corn grilled until lightly charred and brushed with a creamy, spicy sauce made from mayonnaise, yogurt, Dijon mustard, Sriracha, honey, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, and salt. The sauce provides a balance of tangy, sweet, and spicy flavors that enhance the natural sweetness and smokiness of the grilled corn, creating a tasty side or snack with a hint of heat.

Description

The corn is husked and cooked over medium-high heat on a grill, turning regularly until evenly cooked and with some charred spots, which add depth to its flavor. The sauce, made by whisking together all ingredients including a mix of creamy and spicy elements, is brushed on the hot corn immediately after grilling to coat it in a flavorful glaze.

Additional sriracha can be drizzled for extra heat if desired. This method results in corn with a smoky, slightly sweet taste complemented by a creamy, spicy, and subtly sweet sauce that balances richness and piquancy.

The recipe is straightforward and great for outdoor grilling occasions, bringing an Asian flavor twist to a summer staple.

Sriracha, a common Asian chili-garlic sauce, is used to add moderate heat and can be found in most grocery stores, especially in the Asian foods section.

  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes crushed

Notes

  • Sriracha sauce provides the chili garlicky flavor and heat, available in most grocery store Asian sections.
  • Turn corn often during grilling to achieve even cooking and char throughout.
  • Brush sauce on immediately after grilling to ensure it sticks and delivers full flavor.
