Asian Jalapeno Chicken

Asian Jalapeno Chicken features tender chunks of chicken cooked and coated in a sweet and tangy honey soy sauce with a spicy kick from fresh jalapeño slices. The sauce is thickened with a cornstarch slurry to give a glossy finish, garnished with sesame seeds and fresh cilantro for added texture and brightness.

Description

This dish starts with boneless skinless chicken breasts cut into bite-sized pieces, seasoned, and pan-seared until golden. The sauce combines honey, garlic, lemon juice, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, sesame oil, and jalapeño slices. After bringing the sauce to a boil, a cornstarch and water mixture thickens it, coating the chicken evenly. Sriracha can be added optionally for extra heat.

The mixture is quickly cooked together to meld flavors while maintaining the chicken's tenderness. Served immediately and garnished with sesame seeds and chopped cilantro, this dish offers a balance of sweet, sour, savory, and spicy notes with a glossy sauce that clings to the chicken pieces.

This chicken is suitable for a quick main dish served alongside plain rice or steamed vegetables. Cooking the chicken separately before combining with the sauce helps retain juiciness and ensures a perfect texture.
