Asian Style Tuna Tacos
Description
These tacos start with fresh ahi tuna cubes marinated in a mixture containing hoisin sauce, honey, sesame oil, soy sauce, lime juice, minced ginger, and a touch of Tabasco. A crisp slaw made from red cabbage, green cabbage, carrots, and cilantro tossed with dressing provides a crunchy contrast. The avocado is combined separately with part of the dressing to add creaminess and tang.
To assemble, warmed tortillas are layered with the slaw, marinated tuna, jalapeño slices, and avocado. The tacos are finished with a drizzle of spicy mayonnaise made by combining mayonnaise with Tabasco sauce. Serving with lime slices allows additional fresh citrus brightness if desired. The balance of creamy, spicy, tangy, and crunchy elements creates a lively taco experience.

Ingredients
Tuna Marinade and Asian Dressing
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- lime juice juice of 2 limes
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger minced
- 1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
For Slaw
- 1/2 cup red cabbage chopped
- 1/2 cup green cabbage shredded
- 1/2 cup carrot shredded
- 1/4 cup cilantro chopped
For Tacos
- 1 lb ahi tuna cubed, fresh, sushi grade
- 8 tortillas
- 2 jalapeños sliced
- 2 avocado cubed
For Spicy Mayo
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons Tabasco sauce
Instructions
- Mix tuna with 1/2 of dressing. Cover, refrigerate and set aside
- In another bowl, mix slaw ingredients with 1/4 dressing. Set aside
- In a small container mix the rest of the dressing with the avocado cubes
- For spicy mayo mix the mayonnaise and TABASCO® Sauce together. Place in a squeeze bottle (optional)
Assembly
- Warm tortillas in the microwave
- Add slaw, tuna, jalapeno slices and avocado
- Top with a drizzle of spicy mayo
- Serve with lime slices
- Enjoy!
