Avocado Caprese Salad

This Avocado Caprese Salad brings together mini mozzarella balls, cherry tomatoes, and cubed avocado, accented with fresh basil, olive oil, and balsamic glaze. The creamy texture of avocado pairs well with the mild, milky mozzarella and the sweet acidity of tomatoes. The salad is lightly tossed with sea salt and black pepper to enhance natural flavors, making it a fresh and colorful option for a quick starter or side.

Description

Avocado Caprese Salad blends creamy avocado cubes with mini mozzarella cheese balls and juicy cherry tomatoes. Fresh basil cut into thin strips adds aromatic herbal notes. The salad is dressed simply with extra virgin olive oil and a drizzle of balsamic glaze, balancing richness with a slight sweetness and acidity.

The ingredients are combined gently to maintain the shape and texture of each component, resulting in a fresh and light salad with contrasting creamy, tangy, and juicy bites. The use of balsamic glaze adds a glossy finish and concentrated flavor that sets this version apart from a classic Caprese.

This salad is best served immediately to preserve the delicate texture of the avocado and cheese, making it a fitting appetizer or a refreshing side dish during warm weather or alongside grilled foods.

  • 1 pint cherry tomato
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese mini cheese balls
  • 1 avocado pitted and cubed, large
  • ¼ cup basil cut into chiffonade (long strips, fresh
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
  • salt sea salt
  • black pepper

Instructions

  1. Assemble the mozzarella cheese, cherry tomatoes, cut avocado and basil in a serving dish.
  2. Season with sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste. Drizzle with olive oil and the balsamic glaze. Carefully toss to coat the ingredients with the dressing. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consume within 24 hours for best quality.
  • If cherry tomatoes are unavailable, regular tomatoes cut into bite-sized pieces can be used as a substitute.
  • Balsamic vinegar can replace balsamic glaze if needed, though the glaze provides a thicker, sweeter dressing.
  • Whole mozzarella cheese can be cut into smaller pieces if mini mozzarella balls are not available.
