Avocado Chocolate Mousse Recipe
Description
The Avocado Chocolate Mousse uses very ripe avocados as the base, creating a creamy texture without dairy. Bittersweet melted chocolate and cocoa powder provide the signature chocolate richness, while almond milk helps achieve a smooth consistency. Maple syrup adds natural sweetness, balanced by vanilla extract and a pinch of sea salt to enhance the flavors.
Blending all ingredients until smooth and chilling the mousse allows it to set to a desirable consistency that holds shape when served. This mousse offers a velvety mouthfeel with a balanced sweet and slightly bitter profile from the chocolate components.
Serve chilled and finished with coconut whipped cream and fresh raspberries, which add lightness and a touch of freshness. The mousse stores well in the refrigerator up to five days and can also be frozen for up to two months, making it convenient for make-ahead preparations.
When freezing, thaw slowly in the fridge overnight to restore texture. To maintain quality, store leftovers in airtight containers. Make-ahead tips include preparing the mousse in serving jars and topping only before serving.
