Bacon-wrapped Salmon

Bacon-wrapped Salmon features seasoned salmon steaks coated with coriander, wrapped in back bacon, and oven-baked until the fish is cooked through and the bacon crisps up. The combination provides a savory, herbaceous layer over the rich, flaky salmon, offering a mix of textures from tender fish to a golden bacon crust.

Description

Bacon-wrapped Salmon involves seasoning salmon steaks with salt, black pepper, and a squeeze or spread of coriander herb. Each steak is then carefully wrapped in back bacon, which is slightly stretched to fit snugly around the fish. The wrapped steaks are placed on a baking tray, drizzled lightly with olive oil, and baked in a 200°C oven for about 20 minutes. This cooking time ensures the salmon is cooked thoroughly while the bacon becomes golden and crisp.

The contrast between the flavorful, moist salmon and the smoky, slightly crispy bacon creates a rich combination. The coriander adds a fresh, slightly citrusy note that complements the bacon's saltiness and the fish's natural taste. Drizzling with light olive oil adds moisture and aids in browning.

This dish is suitable as a main course, pairing well with simple sides or vegetables. Its straightforward preparation highlights the natural flavors and textures of the ingredients without requiring complex steps.
