Bagels with Smoked Salmon and Herbed Avocado Spread

Ingredients
For the spread:
- 1 avocado ripe, California, seeded, peeled, sliced, at room temperature
- 3 ounces cream cheese at room temperature
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice fresh
- kosher salt
- 1 1/2 tablespoons chives finely sliced
- 1 1/2 tablespoons dill chopped
- black pepper freshly ground
For the bagels:
- bagel plain and/or everything, cut in half and toasted
- smoked salmon or lox
- red onion thinly sliced
- capers
- dill fresh
- lemon wedges
Instructions
- To make the Herbed Avocado Spread, add sliced avocado, cream cheese, lemon juice and 3/4 teaspoon salt in a small food processor, pulsing several times to combine. Add chives, dill and several turns of black pepper, then blitz until well-combined. The mixture won’t be completely smooth. Season to taste with additional salt and pepper.
- To serve, schmear bagels with Herbed Avocado Spread. Top will smoked salmon, sliced red onion, capers and dill to taste. Serve lemon wedges on the side.
