Baked Apple Pie Roll Ups

Baked Apple Pie Roll Ups transform white bread slices and apple pie filling into a warm, cinnamon-sugar coated treat reminiscent of apple pie flavors in a convenient hand-held form. Rolling the bread flat, filling it with chopped apple filling, and dipping in melted butter before coating with cinnamon sugar creates a crispy, sweet exterior with a soft, fruity center after baking. These roll ups bake to golden brown perfection, offering a dessert or snack that is easy to prepare.

Description

The preparation begins by trimming crusts off white bread slices and flattening them with a rolling pin. Cinnamon and granulated sugar are mixed for coating. Apple pie filling is chopped into smaller pieces to spread evenly on the bread. Each slice is topped with about two tablespoons of this filling, then rolled up tightly. The rolls are dipped briefly into melted butter and then rolled in the cinnamon sugar mixture, forming a sweet, spiced exterior.

Placed seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking pan and baked at 350°F for 15 minutes, the roll ups develop a browned, slightly crisp crust. This technique produces a dessert with a soft, warm center packed with apple and cinnamon flavor, surrounded by a sugary, lightly crunchy bread shell. The recipe makes for a convenient and enjoyable treat that captures apple pie elements without the work of crust making.

Nutrition information varies based on the brands and methods used but is estimated for guidance. These roll ups are best served warm shortly after baking.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 10 lices white bread
  • 1 can apple pie filling or homemade pie filling
  • cup butter melted
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Cut the crusts off your bread and roll each slice flat with a rolling pin. Combine cinnamon and sugar on a small plate.
  3. Pour the apple pie filling onto a plate and chop it so the pieces are smaller. Place 2 tablespoons apple pie filling on each slice of bread and roll up.
  4. Dip each roll into melted butter (I poured a tiny bit of butter into a “butter dish” and just rolled in there) and then roll in the cinnamon sugar.
  5. Place seam side down on a parchment lined pan and bake 15 minutes or until browned and crispy. Serve warm.
