Baked feta pasta with blood oranges and kalamata olives

This baked feta pasta centers around a block of feta cheese surrounded by cherry tomatoes, slices of blood orange, and kalamata olives, all roasted together in olive oil and herbs. The tomatoes and citrus soften and release juices when baked, which mix with the creamy feta when mashed. Combined with pasta and optional fresh basil, the result is a creamy pasta with bright, savory, and slightly tangy flavors.

Description

Baked feta pasta with blood oranges and kalamata olives is a blend of sweet and savory ingredients roasted to meld their flavors. The cherry tomatoes and blood orange slices soften and burst after baking, releasing juices that combine with the melted feta in the center. The olives add a salty, briny contrast, and the generous olive oil infused with herbs like oregano contributes richness and aroma. Broiling at the end adds slight browning and depth to the feta and tomatoes.

After baking, the ingredients are mashed to create a creamy sauce that coats the cooked pasta. Fresh basil can be stirred in for herbal brightness. This pasta dish balances creaminess, acidity from citrus and tomatoes, and the briny bite of olives, making it a flavorful main or side complemented by simple pasta.
