Ingredients
- 8 ounces tube crescent dough sheet
- ½ pound ham sliced
- 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
- 3 Tablespoons butter melted
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Line two sheet pans with parchment paper and set aside.
- Unroll the crescent dough.
- Layer the ham onto the dough and sprinkle the cheese over the ham.
- Roll the dough up from a long edge into a log and slice it into 12 equal pieces.
- Place the pinwheels onto the sheet pan.
- In a small mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and garlic powder. Brush the butter over the pinwheels.
- Place in preheated oven at 425 degrees Fahrenheit and bake for 17-20 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- IN THE FRIDGE: Store these baked ham and cheese rollups in an airtight container in the refrigerator and they’ll be good for 4-5 days.
- IN THE FREEZER: To freeze the ham and cheese pinwheels, let them cool completely after they have been baked. In an airtight container, they’ll stay fresh for about a month.
- If your grocery store doesn’t have the crescent dough sheet you can still make these with the regular can of crescent rolls. Make sure you don’t tear them apart first, leave the sheet whole.
- Shred your own cheese for the best meltability!
- If you have trouble rolling up the ham and cheese pinwheels, spread the crescent roll dough sheet on top of a sheet of parchment paper. Once all the ingredients are added, you can then use the parchment paper to help you tightly roll the dough.
- If your ham is watery, be sure to dry it off with paper towels to prevent your pinwheels from being soggy.
- You can use the slices of cheddar cheese, but it might be a little more difficult to roll up into a tight pinwheel. You will need about 12 slices of cheddar cheese.
