Baked Pears with Ricotta Recipe

Baked Pears with Ricotta features oven-roasted rose pears topped with a sweetened ricotta mixture, shredded chocolate, and fresh raspberries. The baking softens the pears and concentrates their natural sweetness, which balances the creamy, mildly sweet ricotta and the richness of chocolate. The raspberries add a bright, tart contrast to the overall mild, mellow dessert.

Description

This dessert recipe starts by baking cored, sliced rose pears at 375°F until tender but still holding shape. The baked pears provide a warm, soft foundation that retains a delicate structure. The ricotta cheese blended with sweetened condensed milk adds a creamy, smooth topping that contrasts with the pears' texture. Shredded chocolate sprinkled over the pears lends a touch of richness and slight bitterness, especially nice if using chocolate with roasted hazelnuts. Fresh raspberries crown the dish, contributing a fresh acidic brightness to balance the dessert's sweetness.

Baked pears with ricotta make an elegant yet uncomplicated dessert suited for serving chilled after refrigeration. The layered textures and balanced flavors make it enjoyable as a light finish to a meal or as a special treat emphasizing seasonal fruit and wholesome dairy.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 8 pear rose variety
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 tbsp condensed milk
  • 4 oz chocolate
  • 1/2 cup raspberries fresh

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Wash, slice and core the pears. Place the pears on a baking sheet flesh side up. Bake them for 15-20 minutes, remove them from the oven, and allow them to cool at room temperature.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk the ricotta cheese and condensed milk together.
  3. Fill up each pear with the ricotta mixture. Shred some chocolate on top of each pair. If you can get your hands on chocolate with roasted hazelnuts, it's the absolute best.
  4. Top pears with some raspberries and refrigerate them before serving. Enjoy!
