Baked Polenta Chips
Description
Baked Polenta Chips start with polenta sliced into fry-sized pieces. They are drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with garlic powder, salt, and pepper before being baked at 200°C (400°F) until crisp on the outside. The baking process removes moisture and crisps the edges while keeping the interior tender. Custom seasoning options include spicy or herbal blends that can be added before or during baking. Parmesan cheese can be sprinkled in the last 10 minutes of cooking for a cheesy twist.
The chips can be served as a snack or side dish and pair well with dips such as ketchup, BBQ sauce, or ranch dressing. Ensuring chips are cut to consistent sizes helps them cook evenly. Using dry store-bought polenta requires patting dry before slicing to improve texture.
Seasoning variations or additions can personalize this simple recipe. Adding cheese into homemade polenta before slicing offers another flavor dimension. Baking times may vary slightly depending on chip thickness and oven performance.
