Baked Pumpkin Donuts

Baked Pumpkin Donuts offer a tender, spiced treat made with pumpkin puree and a blend of pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, and sugars. The cake-like donuts are made from a batter that combines dry ingredients with pumpkin, eggs, milk, vanilla, and melted butter, baked until lightly golden. A pumpkin-spiced glaze adds a sweet, creamy finish, complementing the autumn flavors. These donuts provide a softer alternative to fried versions with ease of baking in a donut pan.

Description

The Baked Pumpkin Donuts recipe relies on common baking ingredients such as all-purpose flour, sugars, baking powder, baking soda, and a pumpkin spice blend that includes pumpkin pie spice and cinnamon. The wet ingredients include pumpkin puree, eggs, milk, vanilla, and melted butter, which create a moist batter. The method uses a piping technique with a snipped Ziploc bag to fill the donut pan molds evenly.

Baking at 350°F produces donuts with a soft crumb and gentle rise, taking about 10-12 minutes. Cooling the donuts before glazing ensures the glaze adheres properly without melting off. The glaze itself is a mixture of powdered sugar, pumpkin pie spice, butter, vanilla, and water, offering a balance of spices and sweetness that enhances the pumpkin flavor.

These baked donuts are a seasonal treat that pairs well with coffee or tea and provide a less oily option compared to fried donuts. They are suitable for fall-themed breakfasts or snacks and showcase the warm spices characteristic of pumpkin desserts.
