Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins

Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins combine ripe mashed bananas with semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips for a tender, moist crumb. The baking soda gives a light rise while the mashed bananas add natural sweetness and moisture. These muffins are great for breakfast or as a snack, offering a balance of fruity and chocolate flavors with a soft texture and slightly crisp edges when freshly baked.

Description

Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins start with mashed ripe bananas, which provide flavor and moisture to the batter. The mixture combines all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, and two kinds of chocolate chips—semi-sweet and milk chocolate—for layered chocolate richness. Sugar, egg, vegetable oil, and vanilla create a tender crumb and enhance sweetness. Baking at 375°F for about 18 to 20 minutes yields muffins with a soft interior and lightly browned tops. The method ensures the batter is mixed just until combined to keep the muffins moist and tender.

These muffins are versatile as a breakfast option or a sweet treat during the day, best enjoyed fresh but can be stored briefly. Their texture and balanced sweetness also make them suitable for packing in lunches or as a casual snack.

Adjust baking time for different muffin sizes: mini muffins require less time while jumbo muffins need a bit longer. Avoid overbaking to keep the muffins moist inside.
