Banana Oatmeal Cookies

Banana Oatmeal Cookies combine mashed bananas, oats, and a blend of flours and spices to create soft, chewy cookies studded with chocolate chips and optional nuts. The bananas add natural sweetness and moisture, while the oats contribute a hearty texture. These cookies bake to lightly browned edges and provide a comforting familiar flavor.

Description

These cookies blend all-purpose flour, oats, cinnamon, baking soda, and baking powder with softened butter, sugars, egg, mashed bananas, and vanilla extract to create a moist and flavorful dough. Adding chocolate chips and chopped pecans or walnuts adds interest and texture. The baking process results in cookies that are tender with a slightly crisp edge and a soft, chewy center.

The use of ripe bananas contributes moisture and sweetness, reducing the need for additional sweeteners. Cinnamon provides warm spice notes that complement the banana and chocolate chips. The cookies spread moderately and bake quickly at 400°F, making them easy to prepare.

These cookies work well as a snack or dessert, offering a balance of sweet and mild spice with added richness from chocolate and nuts. They can be stored for several days and are suitable for casual occasions.
