Banana Split
Description
The Banana Split combines a medium-ripe banana sliced down the middle with three traditional ice cream flavors in a single dessert dish. Strategic sauce placement matches each ice cream scoop, balancing fruity and chocolaty notes. The addition of whipped topping and maraschino cherries lends a classic feel, while chopped roasted peanuts or walnuts provide a crunchy contrast to the otherwise creamy and soft textures. This layering of elements creates a dynamic taste experience that’s both nostalgic and adaptable.
You can serve the Banana Split immediately as a refreshing treat after meals or as a nostalgic dessert for gatherings. The mix of ice cream flavors with fruit sauces and nuts allows for customization to suit different preferences and makes it a versatile sweet ending to any meal.
The recipe notes encourage customizing toppings and sauces freely, including options like alternative ice cream flavors or fruit sauces. For serving larger groups, setting up a Banana Split Bar lets guests personalize their dessert. The use of rainbow ice cream or swaps like blueberry sauce offer fun variations to keep the dessert interesting.

- 1 coop vanilla
- 1 coop chocolate ice cream

- 1 Tbsp pineapple sauce
- 3 maraschino cherries
- whipped topping for topping
- peanuts for topping, chopped roasted or walnuts
Instructions
- Place the banana in a dessert dish with one slice on each side.

Notes
- Try different ice cream flavors to tailor the banana split to your taste, such as cookies and cream or cake batter.

- For parties, consider a build-your-own Banana Split Bar with assorted toppings and sauces.
