Best Balsamic Vinaigrette Recipe
Description
The vinaigrette starts by combining aged balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil with honey for sweetness and Dijon mustard for emulsification and flavor depth. A touch of dried thyme and minced garlic adds herbal and aromatic notes. The dressing is seasoned with salt and ground black pepper, then vigorously shaken to blend the ingredients into a smooth, slightly thick consistency.
The vinaigrette offers a harmonious balance of tanginess from the balsamic and sweetness from the honey, complemented by savory mustard and herbs. It can be used to dress salads, marinate vegetables, or enhance grilled proteins.
Stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator, this vinaigrette remains fresh for 2-3 weeks. Stir or shake well before each use, as ingredients may separate over time.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar aged
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 2-3 tablespoons honey
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon thyme dried
- 1 clove garlic minced
