Best Chocolate Fudge Recipe

Report
This Chocolate Fudge recipe yields rich, smooth squares made by combining sugar, butter, evaporated milk, melted semi-sweet chocolate chips, marshmallow creme, and vanilla. It offers a creamy texture with optional chopped walnuts for crunch. The fudge is cooked carefully to a soft ball stage before mixing ingredients and cooling until set, delivering a classic, dense, sweet treat.

Description

The Best Chocolate Fudge Recipe begins by cooking sugar, butter, and evaporated milk to a rolling boil, carefully timed to reach a candy thermometer reading of 212°F to ensure proper consistency. Chocolate chips and marshmallow creme are then stirred in until melted and combined, creating a smooth chocolate base. Vanilla extract adds depth of flavor. Chopped walnuts can be included for added texture.

The mixture is poured into a foil-lined pan, cooled completely, then cut into small squares. The resulting fudge is dense, creamy, and sweet with a slight chew from the marshmallow creme and optional nuttiness from walnuts.

This fudge is a traditional confection ideal for sharing or gifting and can be stored until ready to serve.

Walnuts are optional and can be omitted or substituted according to personal taste.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 6 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk (5 ounce can)
  • 2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips (12 ounce bag)
  • (1) 7 oz. marshmallow creme Jet Puffed brand
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup walnuts optional, chopped

Instructions

  1. Line a 9"x13" with foil and spray with non stick cooking spray. Set aside.
  2. In a double boiler, bring sugar, butter and evaporated milk to a rolling boil over medium heat. Boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly (temp should read 212 Fahrenheit on a candy thermometer).
  3. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips and marshmallow creme. Stir until completely melted.
  4. Add vanilla and mix well. If you are using nuts, add them now, too.
  5. Pour into prepared pan and let cool completely.
  6. Lift foil out of pan and cut into small squares.

Notes

  • Walnuts are optional and can be omitted or replaced by other nuts or skipped entirely.
  • Cook the sugar mixture to the proper temperature (212°F) for the correct fudge consistency.
  • Let the fudge cool completely before cutting to prevent crumbling.
