Best Ever Pecan Bars
Description
This recipe begins by combining softened butter and sugar until fluffy, then mixing in vanilla, water, flour, and finely chopped pecans to form a shortbread crust pressed firmly into the baking pan. It bakes until lightly golden, creating a crisp foundation.
The filling consists of melted butter mixed with light corn syrup, brown sugar, vanilla, salt, and beaten eggs, which is then combined with pecans. This mixture is poured over the warm crust and baked until set, yielding a sticky, caramelized pecan topping.
Once cooled, the bars are cut into squares that balance the crisp texture of the crust and the chewy, sweet pecan layer. This dessert serves well with coffee or tea and as a festive treat.
