  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 26 ounces mini marshmallows divided
  • 6 ½ cups Rice Krispies cereal

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch pan. Set aside. 
  2. Add butter to a large pot.
  3. Melt butter over medium-low heat.
  4. When the butter is mosty melted (about 80%), add 16 ounces marshmallows, and stir in.
  5. Stir regularly until the marshmallows have melted. 
  6. Remove pot from heat.
  7. Stir in cereal until combined. 
  8. Add remaining 10 ounces marshmallows, and fold in until incorporated. 
  9. Pour the cereal mixture into the prepared pan, and gently press the mixture into the prepared pan with a spatula. 
  10. Let cool to room temperature, and cut into bars to serve. 

Notes

  • Using salted butter helps balance the sweetness; if using unsalted butter, add a pinch of salt.
  • You may substitute 16 ounces of large marshmallows and 10 ounces of miniature marshmallows to adjust texture.
