Description
This recipe uses a boxed chocolate cake mix prepared according to package instructions. While the cake is still warm from baking, holes are poked throughout the top using the bottom of a wooden spoon. Sweetened condensed milk is poured over the cake, allowing it to seep into the holes and add moisture and sweetness.
Caramel sauce is then poured over the cake surface, further enriching it with deep, buttery flavor. The cake is chilled for several hours to fully absorb the liquid and set its texture. Ingredients
- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- water as called for on back of box
- oil
- egg
- 16 oz caramel sauce
- 1 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 medium tub Cool Whip (or 3 cups whipped cream)
- 1 cup Toffee bits
Instructions
- Make cake as directed on the back of the box.
- While warm, poke holes in the cake with the bottom of a wooden spoon.
- Pour sweetened condensed milk over the cake and into holes.
- Pour caramel sauce over the cake as well. Chill cake for 2-3 hours.
- Right before serving, top with whipped cream and sprinkle with toffee bits.
