Better Than Crack Brownies

Better Than Crack Brownies use a boxed brownie mix as a base, enhanced with peanuts and peanut butter cups baked into the top. A melted chocolate and peanut butter mixture combined with crisped Rice Krispies is poured over while still warm, creating a layered treat with chewy, crunchy, and creamy textures.

Description

This recipe starts with a classic boxed brownie mix baked in a 9x13 dish until nearly done. Peanuts and chopped peanut butter cups are sprinkled on top, then baked briefly to soften the candy and toast the nuts slightly. While the brownies finish baking, a sauce of melted milk chocolate, creamy peanut butter, and butter is stirred together with Rice Krispies cereal for added crunch.

The warm chocolate-peanut butter mixture is then poured evenly over the brownies, which are refrigerated for at least two hours to set. This final step creates a sticky, textured topping contrasting with the fudgy brownie base beneath. The interplay of smooth peanut butter, crunchy cereal, and chewy brownie layers defines the character of this dessert.

These brownies are sliced into squares and served chilled or at room temperature as a rich, peanut-flavored dessert. The recipe requires little prep and uses convenience ingredients but delivers a distinctive combination of flavors and textures.
