Ingredients

Servings

Vegetables

  • ½ cup mung bean sprouts
  • ½ cup spinach leaves
  • ½ cup carrot julienned
  • ½ cup zucchini julienned
  • ½ cup mushrooms I used shiitake, sliced
  • ½ cup green onions sliced

Meat:

  • 75 gms beef pork or chicken, ground or cut into fine strips (I used pork mince) 1 tsp soy sauce, ½ cup
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper

Gochujang Sauce

  • 3 tbsp gochujang Gochujang, Korean red pepper paste
  • 1/2 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1 clove garlic minced

Korean style steamed rice

  • 220 gms rice short grain rice, the same is used to make Sushi, Korean, 1 cup
  • 300 ml water 1¼ cup

Assembling:

  • rice cooked Korean style steamed
  • sesame oil
  • egg 1 per serving
  • dried seaweed gim - 김, cut into thin strips using kitchen scissors

Notes

  • The vegetables can be substituted according to seasonal availability or your preference. You can also use lettuce and cucumber, raw.  Try to use a colorful selection of vegetables to make your dish more appealing and healthier.
  • Vegetarians may omit the meat or use grilled tofu as a substitute.
