Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 cup water 250ml
  • 1 cup granulated white sugar 200g
  • ½ cup light brown sugar 100g
  • 2 teaspoons Biscoff spice
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Stir the sugars and water together in a pot, bring to the boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Add the biscoff spice and cook for a further 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from the heat, stir in the vanilla and allow to cool.
  4. Strain in a fine mesh strainer (or mesh bag) over a bowl.
  5. Pour into a jar or bottle and keep in the fridge for up to 4 weeks.

Notes

  • Make sure you add the spices only after the sugar has been at a simmer for at least 5 minutes. Adding the spices to boiling water could cause them to heat too quickly and leave a bitter taste.
