Bisquick Peach Cobbler Recipe

This Bisquick Peach Cobbler blends a biscuit-style batter incorporating baking mix, milk, nutmeg, and cinnamon, topped with browned brown sugar-coated peaches. The mixture bakes until golden and set, offering a tender, slightly spiced crust beneath soft, juicy peach slices with caramel notes. It's a warm dessert that highlights ripe peaches with a balance of sweetness and mild spice.

Description

The Bisquick Peach Cobbler uses a biscuit-like batter made from baking mix combined with milk, nutmeg, and cinnamon, then mixed with melted butter and poured into a baking dish. Fresh sliced peaches tossed with brown sugar are spooned on top, allowing the natural juices to mingle with the sugary coating while baking. The cobbler bakes until the crust is golden and a toothpick inserted into the batter tests clean, indicating doneness.

The flavor profile balances the sweet, tender peaches with warm spices of nutmeg and cinnamon. This creates a comforting texture contrast between the soft fruit and crisp, buttery crust. The cobbler is suited for dessert and pairs well with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

The recipe calls for an ungreased pan to help form a slightly crisp bottom crust, and a typical baking time of 40 to 50 minutes ensures thorough cooking. Leftovers should be refrigerated.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 cup baking mix or Bisquick™, if preferred, homemade
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter salted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 4-5 peach sliced with skin on, large, ripe

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 °F.
  2. Whisk together the baking mix milk, nutmeg and cinnamon. Pour in the melted butter and mix again. Pour into an ungreased 8x8 pan or a large cast iron skillet.
  3. Combine the peaches with the brown sugar, tossing to coat them well. Spoon onto the top of the Bisquick mixture in the pan carefully, trying to keep them on top if you can.
  4. Place in the oven and bake for 40-50 minutes until golden brown and baked completely though. You can insert a toothpick into the baked part and see if it comes out clean.

Notes

  • Drain canned peaches thoroughly if using, to avoid excess moisture in the cobbler.
  • Use an ungreased baking dish to help develop a crisp crust on the bottom.
  • Check doneness with a toothpick; it should come out clean when the cobbler is fully baked.
