Blackberry Cobbler Recipe

Blackberry Cobbler blends fresh or frozen blackberries over a simple batter made from self-rising flour, milk, and sugar, baked until golden and bubbly. The soft cake-like crust contrasts with juicy, sweet-tart blackberries, creating a comforting dessert traditionally served warm with whipped cream or ice cream.

Description

The Blackberry Cobbler Recipe creates a baked dessert with a base batter of self-rising flour, milk, and sugar combined with melted butter. The batter is poured into a buttered 9x13-inch dish, and blackberries are evenly distributed on top. Additional sugar is sprinkled over the berries to enhance sweetness and promote juiciness during baking.

Baking at 350°F for about an hour cooks the batter into a golden, tender crust with a bubbly blackberry layer beneath. The texture contrasts a soft, slightly cakey topping with rich, syrupy berries. Adding extra sugar near the end of baking intensifies caramelization and sweetness. The finished cobbler is typically served warm with dollops of whipped cream or scoops of ice cream to offset the tartness and add creaminess.

This straightforward recipe does not require complicated steps or specialized ingredients, making it accessible for a homemade fruit dessert highlighting blackberries' natural tartness and flavor.
