Blackened Salmon Tacos with Kiwi Pepper Salsa

Blackened Salmon Tacos with Kiwi Pepper Salsa feature salmon filets coated with a bold blend of paprika, thyme, cumin, and other spices, pan-seared to flaky perfection. The tacos are topped with a fresh salsa of diced kiwi and red bell pepper, bringing bright and tart contrast alongside creamy avocado crema. Wrapped in small tortillas, these tacos deliver a balance of smoky, fruity, and creamy textures and flavors.

Description

This recipe uses a blend of smoked paprika, thyme, cumin, garlic and onion powders, salt, and pepper to blacken salmon filets in a cast iron skillet. Cooking the salmon quickly on each side until it flakes yields tender, flavorful chunks. The Kiwi Pepper Salsa adds a refreshing brightness with diced kiwi, finely chopped red bell pepper, red onion, lime juice, and cilantro, seasoned with salt and pepper.

Assembled in small tortillas, each taco is layered with salmon chunks, the sweet and tangy kiwi salsa, and a dollop of smooth avocado crema for cooling richness. The combination of spice from the blackened salmon and sweet acidity from the salsa creates a balanced filling ideal for casual meals.

Choose your preferred tortilla type—corn, flour, or gluten-free—and warm them before assembling to soften and improve pliability. Avoid overcooking the salmon to keep the fish moist and flaky.
