Blood Orange Margarita

The Blood Orange Margarita features freshly juiced blood oranges and lime combined with tequila and triple sec, served over ice with a salted rim. This cocktail balances the deep citrus flavor of blood orange with tart lime and the warmth of tequila, creating a vibrant and refreshing drink.

Description

This margarita starts by rimming glasses with fresh blood orange juice and coarse salt, enhancing the citrus aroma and adding a contrasting salty bite. The cocktail is blended by shaking together freshly squeezed blood orange juice, lime juice, tequila, and triple sec with ice, chilling and diluting the mixture slightly for a balanced taste.

The resulting drink offers the rich, slightly sweet and tangy flavor of blood orange alongside sharp lime acidity. The smooth warmth of the tequila and the orange-flavored triple sec add depth and complexity. Serving it with a slice of blood orange adds a decorative touch and an extra hint of brightness.

Served chilled over ice in salted-rim glasses, this cocktail is ideal for festive occasions such as Cinco de Mayo or whenever a citrus-forward margarita is desired.
