Description

This recipe uses jumbo canned biscuits, divided and shaped around blueberry pie filling so that the filling stays sealed inside. The dough is rolled to a quarter-inch thickness before filling with about one tablespoon of blueberry pie filling. Each bite is pinched securely to prevent leakage during cooking.

The assembled bites are air-fried at 350°F for eight minutes, producing a lightly crisp and flaky dough surrounding a gooey blueberry center. Brushing melted butter and sprinkling sparkling sugar after cooking adds flavor and a gently sweet crunch.

  • 1 Biscuit 5 count, jumbo, canned
  • ¾ cup blueberry pie filling
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Sparkling Sugar

Instructions

  1. Divide each biscuit in half.
  2. Roll each piece of dough into a ball and flatten it to ¼ inch thick.
  3. Scoop about 1 tablespoon of filling into the center of the dough.
  4. Pinch two sides of the dough together and then pinch the opposite sides together until the dough is closed around the filling. Don't overfill the biscuits.
  5. Repeat for all the dough.
  6. Place parchment paper in the bottom of the air fryer basket or spray it with oil. Place the biscuit bites in the air fryer basket, keeping them about 1 inch apart.
  7. Air fry at 350°f for 8 minutes.
  8. Melt the butter. Then brush the biscuit balls with butter and sprinkle them with the sparkling sugar.
  9. Take them out of the air fryer and let them cool slightly before eating.

Notes

  • Use biscuits with flaky layers for a tender texture.
  • Limit filling to about one tablespoon to avoid bursting during air frying.
  • Line air fryer with parchment or spray basket with oil to prevent sticking.
