Notes

  • Substitutions & Variations
  • • Use other pie fillings to change the flavor of the dessert salad.
  • • Use light sour cream instead of full-fat sour cream.
  • • Use colored mini marshmallows instead of white mini marshmallows.
  • • Use 2 to 3 sliced ripe bananas instead of the pineapple chunks.
  • • Substitute shredded coconut in place of the pineapple chunks.
  • • Substitute chopped pecans or walnuts for the sliced almonds. You can also leave out the nuts if you wish.
  • How to Store
  • Cover any leftover salad and store in the fridge for up to three days.
  • Can you freeze?
  • You can freeze it as well for up to three months in an airtight freezer safe container. However, there may be some texture changes so it’s best served fresh.
  • Can I make ahead?
  • Yes, you can make this dessert salad in advance up to a day before you want to serve it. Store it in the fridge until ready to serve.
