Blueberry Pie Bars

Blueberry Pie Bars layer a buttery, sweet vanilla batter with blueberry pie filling in a 9x13 pan and bake until golden. After cooling, a creamy vanilla glaze drizzled on top adds richness and sweetness. This dessert combines buttery dough, vibrant pie filling, and a smooth glaze for balanced texture and flavor.

Description

Blueberry Pie Bars begin with a base batter made from softened butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, flour, and a touch of salt, creating a rich dough with a subtle vanilla flavor. About 3 1/2 cups of the batter forms the bottom crust in a greased 9x13 pan.

A layer of blueberry pie filling spreads evenly over the base, providing sweetness and a juicy burst of blueberry flavor. The remaining batter is dolloped atop the filling, creating a textured top crust once baked. The bars bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean, indicating a fully set center.

After cooling, a buttery vanilla glaze made of confectioners' sugar, cream, salt, vanilla, and melted butter is drizzled over the bars to add an extra layer of sweetness and moisture. This glaze can be adjusted with more cream for desired consistency.

The bars deliver a combination of tender buttery crust, sweet blueberry filling, and a glossy sweet glaze. They can be served as a dessert or snack and stored once cooled. The layers of flavor and texture make for a pleasing treat with the familiar components of a blueberry pie in an easy-to-serve bar format.
