Braised Cabbage with Beef

Braised Cabbage with Beef is a hearty one-pan dish combining thin strips of beef with tender cabbage, carrots, and onions simmered together in tomato paste and butter. The slow cooking softens the vegetables and melds the flavors, creating a savory, comforting meal that can be served on its own or alongside grains.

Description

Thinly sliced flank beef is first browned in a skillet with neutral oil, then onions are added and cooked until golden. Carrots are incorporated next, followed by cabbage that is cooked down over low heat until tender. Tomato paste and butter finish the dish, adding richness and depth.

The combination produces a balance of textures with soft vegetables and tender beef in a buttery, lightly tangy sauce from the tomato paste. Seasoned with salt and black pepper, this dish offers a simple yet filling meal.

Braised Cabbage with Beef can be enjoyed on its own or served alongside rice or other grains to complement the savory flavors. It is straightforward to prepare and suitable as a wholesome home-cooked dinner.
