Brown Butter Garlic Noodles
Description
Brown Butter Garlic Noodles combine simple ingredients to produce a rich and savory pasta experience. The method starts by cooking spaghetti until al dente, then tossing it in browned butter that has been infused with minced garlic. The butter is cooked until it foams and just starts to brown, releasing a nutty fragrance that is absorbed by the noodles. Oyster sauce adds an umami element that balances the richness of the butter and garlic, while freshly grated Parmesan cheese is stirred in to add a salty, creamy nuance that binds the flavors together.
The texture of the dish is tender with a light coating of buttery sauce that clings to the strands of spaghetti. This preparation approach is direct and highlights the quality of the butter and garlic without overpowering the palate. The dish can be enjoyed on its own or paired with grilled or roasted meats to round out a meal.
Ingredients
- 8 oz (230g) spaghetti
- 4 tablespoons butter melted, unsalted
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 2 1/2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 3 tablespoons Parmesan Cheese grated
Instructions
- Bring a pot of water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the melted butter. Cook until the butter starts to foam and turn slightly brown. Add the garlic and stir a few times before adding the noodles and oyster sauce. Stir to mix well.
- Add the Parmesan cheese and stir to combine well with the noodles. Turn off the heat and serve immediately.
